First Footage Of Ruby Rose As Batwoman Is Here

November 21, 2018

The first look at Ruby Rose in action as Batwoman has been released in a teaser for the Arrowverse three-night crossover TV event, Elseworlds, which begins airing on the CW on December 9.

In the teaser, Green Arrow and Cisco come face to face with Batwoman after she helps foil a prison break at Arkham Asylum.

The existence of Batman is heavily referenced in the teaser. While Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl are all in Gotham, Batman has been missing for three years. Elseworlds consulting producer and executive producer of the new Batwoman series, Caroline Dries, told EW that Gotham is suffering because of Batman's absence.

“Our approach is: What does Gotham look like after the Batman has been gone for three years? So if you have the law and order, protector, and hope gone, what happens as a result? Some people are thriving in his absence because now they can start to do their own thing without the oversight. A lot of other people are suffering and they’re losing hope, and the city itself and infrastructure is falling apart. So it’s not a happy place. Our guys walk into a grimy, scary Gotham.”

Rose posted a photo of herself as the red-haired crime fighter to her Instagram account a day before some very public drama broke out between her and ex-girlfriend, Veronica's singer Jessica Origliasso. The couple broke up earlier this year.

When Origliasso posted a photo on Instagram of her with her new partner, Kai Carlton, Rose left a comment saying "Congratulations! So happy for you both!"

Shockingly, Origliasso replied by accusing Rose of harassing her.

"I have requested you not contact me for over 4 months now," Origliasso wrote. "You have been given my grace of being ignored on every other private platform, so the fact you continue to ignore this to contact me here publicly under the guise of wishing me well, is continued harassment."

Rose responded by writing "That is news to me. Copy that. Good vibes only."

Origliasso then posted a quote about removing toxic people from your life to her Instagram stories. Yikes! Maybe someone should teach her how to use the blocking function instead.
