Canadian singer, songwriter and LGBTI advocate Carly Rae Jepsen - of Call Me Maybe fame - has dropped the video for her new single Party For One and it’s a very queer celebration of self love and solitude, featuring a bunch of social media sensations.
The video is directed by Instagram star Bardia Zeinali, who recently worked with Troye Sivan on two videos for his Bloom album. Zeinali enlisted Bread Face to open the video – she’s a viral sensation who literally smashes her face into loaves of bread.

“She epitomizes what it means to be totally uninhibited, regardless of how it’s perceived or what it will mean to someone else, or whether it’s right or wrong, or if it’s uncomfortable," Zeinali told Billboard.
"Right off the bat, she lets the viewer know, this is the kind of shit that’s gonna happen. It’s gonna get weird, and you’re gonna like it, and you’re gonna have a party for one."
Set in a hotel, the video is a play on rom-coms like Bridget Jones's Diary, showing a handful of guests and what they get up to in their private time.
New York City ballet student and queer social media sensation Parker Kit Hill has his very own party in the bath - dancing, drinking red wine and feasting on spaghetti and meatballs.

Lady Gaga and Jepsen's out and proud backup dancer Mark Kanemura, who goes viral on Instagram when he posts his dance videos, stays true to form and strips to his underwear to dance around the room in a wig. Down the corridor, a glamorous older woman prepares for a fun night in by eagerly unpacking her sex toys.

In contrast to all the happy people, Same Same The Series actress Alisha B Woods looks like she's hit the depression and anger stages of her heartbreak. She lies on the bed smoking a cigarette and staring at a photo of her with her ex girlfriend, before stubbing the cigarette out on her ex’s forehead and ripping the photo up.
In other rooms, a young woman spirals through her own break-up emotions, whilst Carly and a businessman both embrace their freedom.
The song is super catchy and the video has already reached over 1,600,000 views in a few days, so embrace your own splendid solitude and check it out.
