June is Pride Month in the USA and Billboard Magazine is celebrating with 30 Days Of Pride.
The world's most influential media brand asked pop culture stars to write heart felt, personal ‘love letters’ to the LGBTQ community, which they’re publishing online and sharing on social media. Everyone is encouraged to join the love-fest by posting their own letters on social media using the hashtag #30DaysPride.
You can jump on to Billboard.com to choose from a long list of letters written by singers, actors and comedians including KD Lang, Sir Elton John, Tegan and Sara, Barbra Streisand and Chelsea Handler.
Jennifer Lopez writes about the aunt she looked up to who was secretly struggling with being gay, Adam Lambert talks about the responsibility of representing the LGBTQ community well, while Selena Gomez remembers her open-minded, non-judgemental upbringing and the drag queen who performed for her 16th birthday.
There are heaps of pride month articles to read at the Billboard Pride Hub, including Critics Picks: 10 LGBTQ Idols To Worship For Pride Month and 25 New LGBTQ Anthems: Troye Sivan, Ariana Grande, Hayley Kiyoko plus an interview with Cyndi Lauper, focusing on her long history of LGBTQ activism.
So wherever you are, you can jump online and feel the love. Happy Pride everyone!
