Everyone is freaking out about upcoming romantic comedy Love, Simon.
Based on the acclaimed best-selling 2015 young adult novel Simon vs The homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, Love, Simon is the funny, romantic coming of age story of seventeen year old Simon Spier (Nick Robinson), who wants a great love story and someone to share it with.
The problem is that Simon's life is a bit complicated. Noone knows he's gay except for Blue, the anonymous classmate Simon is falling for online. His best friend (played by Aussie actress Katherine Langford from 13 Reasons Why) might be in love with him and someone else from school has discovered the emails between him and Blue.
Simon’s supportive parents are played by Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel and the film is directed by Greg Berlanti from Brothers and Sisters and Dawson's Creek. The screenplay is written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the people responsible for hit TV series This is Us. Singer, songwriter and super-producer Jack Antonoff is in charge of the soundtrack and the buzz around this movie is HUGE.
Love, Simon debuts in Australia at the Mardi Gras Film Festival on February 27 and then the Melbourne Queer Film Festival on March 22, opening in general release on March 29. It opens in the USA on March 16 and in the UK at the Glasgow Film Festival on March 2 and then general release April 6.
